Course Overview: This course will provide an in-depth introduction to Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT), the practice of using spatial data to inform decision-making. GEOINT is a rapidly growing field, and this course is designed to provide students with the foundational skills and knowledge necessary to effectively collect, process, analyze, and interpret geospatial data.

• Understanding the GEOINT landscape and its relevance in today’s information age
• The basics of geospatial data, including sources, formats, and data structures
• Techniques for collecting geospatial data, including remote sensing, field surveys, and data acquisition through various sources
• Spatial data processing and analysis, including spatial modeling, geostatistics, and spatial data visualization
• The role of geospatial data in various domains, such as national security, emergency management, urban planning, natural resource management, and commercial industries
• Ethical considerations and legal frameworks surrounding GEOINT

Some prior experience in spatial analysis, GIS, or remote sensing is recommended, but not required.
